Jolie Gustave threw a five-hit shutout for the Monarchs (7-6-1, 1-0). Taylor Caudill took the loss for the Lions (3-4, 0-1) despite allowing simply five hits, no earned runs as well as two strolls while starting out 11 in six innings. Sarah Shaw was 3-for-3 with a double and a stolen base for JSerra.
